Attack of the Killer Tomato Festival

in atlanta, misc food, video

I had a great time at the Attack of the Killer Tomato Festival yesterday. It was hot, but it was lively and the food, drinks, and the band were awesome. Foodie Buddha wrote a great wrap-up post that you should read. We each had two fan votes, and I voted for the ice cream cones by Chef Moritz (Pacci), and I thought Nick Hearin (Eugene) had the best drink with his subtle tomato and Mexican Coca-Cola based cocktail.

After downing a few gin, tequila, and moonshine based cocktails, in my mind’s eye I was Federico Fellini with the camera, but I really didn’t get as many good photos (especially of food) as I thought. I shot some footage so I decided to slap this video together.

Hope everyone that attended had as great of a time as I did!

Many thanks to Georgia Organics, Ford Fry, JCT, Westside Provisions District, Melissa Libby & Associates, the Spazmatics, the volunteers, and of course the chefs and mixologists for putting on such a top notch event.

DAMN! I wish I had made it down there this year. By the time I remembered, it was sold out.

    Nice LCD Soundsystem sample BTW.

    Good work.

  • Hey, Jimmy!

It was great to see you again yesterday! Sorry if I wasn’t terribly coherent — I was a little overheated and dehydrated. Your pictures are much better than mine, which is to be expected since you had the serious camera. :) I’ve linked to your post from my review at
