While I’m talking about farmers markets, I thought I’d pass along some information regarding a market that will be making their debut on Saturday, June 19th – the Chamblee Farmers Market.
The market will open up in the “Frosty Caboose” parking lot at 5435 Peachtree Road in downtown Chamblee.
As a part of their opening, the Chamblee Farmers Market is holding a raffle to raise money, offering up some attention worthy prizes. They include a private wine tasting donated by Holiday Fine Wine and Spirits, two dinners for six at sister restaurants Valenza and Haven, and a chocolate making class from Maison Robert. Sounds like a great way to kick off a new market.
It’s cool to see new markets opening all time. Last week Kessler linked to an AJC map detailing where you can find many of the farmers markets around Atlanta, a handy tool.

On a somewhat related note, the Holiday Fine Wine website is kick ass and was designed by local firm Green Olive Media. Four websites designed by Green Olive (Holeman & Finch, Jackie Mills, Aria, and Vern Yip) recently won American Graphic Design Awards, as well as two Gold awards from the International Academy of the Visual Arts for the H&F and Cakes & Ale website. Very high honors in their industry. Green Olive definitely sets the standard for design in the Southeast. And Jeff seems like a cool guy to grab a beer and a burger with.
I was going to make a joke about how Green Olive also designed my website, but I won’t even joke about blaming this atrocity on them.
