I’m on vacation, suckas. Yet I’m sitting in a diner outside of Glacier National Park, near Babb, Montana eating a buffalo burger and checking email and blogging. The photo above is from yesterday’s hike. For serious.
Oh, that’s a nice segue to the salsa I made last week – my dad’s recipe. Pico de gallo style – tomatoes, jalapeno, raw onion, cilantro, and a splash of red wine vinegar. That’s the secret.
Pastrami croissants from the BATON Momofuku dinner. It was too many sweets and carbs for me, but Katie and I had fun. Where else can I sit at the counter and offer wine to staff, and end up sharing some brilliant rose with Danny Bowein of Mission Chinese Food, Christina Tosi of Momofuku, and Moses Archuleta from Deer Hunter?Cool.
I had a “medium rare” burger at No. 246.
And I had the new McDonald’s Mighty Wings. I want to tell you I hated them, I really do.
Back in a week or so. Heading to Alaska in two days to kick some fish in their tasty faces.
