MM used to be much better. I talked to the former owner of a franchise in Lilburn. They switched to lower quality cheese and made some changes to the sauce to reduce the cost. The other thing I noticed is they don't char the crust like they used to. When I go now I ask for "well done" which produces a better tasting pizza.

The most maddening thing though... bacon is one of my favorite toppings. They used to offer this up nice and crispy and chopped. Now what you get are strips of bacon which don't seem to be cooked until they hit the over. You get greasy and limp like this.

Now what I will tell you is that the franchises in North Carolina don't seem to have adopted these cost savings. I was recently in Boone NC where the MM was as good as ever!

Mellow Mushroom almost disproves the old saying that there's no such thing as bad pizza.
