The jackets didn’t win yesterday, but things looked promising. Oh well – we will get there!.
At least I can sit on the couch, hydrate, and watch football most of today. My stomach and BAC need the recovery time.
Here’s a quick run-down of where (and what) I’ve eaten around town in the last week. I’ve never done a post in this style, but I feel like it so….
- Monday lunch: 5 Guys Burger and Fries. I had never been; the burger was as good as advertised and the fries ruled. My insides hurt for hours.
- Monday night: Half price food at Fox and Hounds. This place is the good old standby, and the wings were decent.
- Wednesday night: Ate at Delucca’s in Columbia, SC. This is a fantastic, tiny place in a strip mall near our office. It rules.
- Thursday night: JCT. Service was slow, our appetizer came out roughly 60 seconds before our entrees, but it was good overall. My shrimp and grits were above average but Katie’s goat cheese ravioli were awesome as usual. They used to call it agnolotti and my guess is they changed the name to something more recognizable to increase sales.
- Friday night: Fontaine’s Oyster House in Virginia-Highlands. Shared some Blue Point Oysters and had a cheap and tasty burger.
- Saturday lunch (gameday): Preston cooked up some hot wings in his small fryer. Hot sauce + butter for one sauce, and I winged a sauce of vegetable oil, hoisin sauce, chili garlic sauce, sesame oil, and powdered mustard for an asian sauce. They were definitely on point for gameday food.
- Saturday dinner: The Midway Pub in East Atlanta Village. A cool spot I have never been to with tons of front patio seating – perfect on a nice night like last night. I had a large bowl of green chicken chili. It was above average but today I don’t feel well. Sharp stomach pains. Maybe it has something to do with the 10 beers. Dunno. Unrelated – this place is real close to Holy Taco, which I want to try soon.
- Sunday – made breakfast and lunch using bagels I picked up from Goldberg’s this morning. I went for the jalapeno cream cheese, it has an awesome kick. I also figured out how to upload pics from my phone when updating my twitter/facebook stats. Pic of breakfast here and pic of lunch here. Don’t know what Twitter is? Curious why my facebook status updates so often? Want to follow me?
